We offer a variety of different courses to suit all your needs. How about doing a General English course if you want to improve your accuracy in English, or a spoken English Skills course if you want to improve your confidence and fluency? Or are you interested in presentation skills or Business communication skills which will give you an edge over your colleagues? You can even bring your children along to join one of our Young learner programmes for Children between the ages of 8-15.
We also offer a range of professional development courses for the corporate sector and teacher training courses for schools and individual teachers.

1.Learn English using the latest techniques and approaches
We believe that a language learner needs to be actively involved in the process of learning English by improving and practicing reading, writing, speaking and listening. We will introduce language and give you the opportunity to USE it in pairs and in groups. You will also be given plenty of opportunity to improve your vocabulary and pronunciation. All of your classes will be varied, interesting, and relevant to your needs and lots of fun! Each class will have a maximum of twenty students so that your teacher can give some individual attention to you all.
2.Learn English with our experienced trainers
Our English trainers are native speakers of English or native speakers standard and are experienced in conducting English language training around the world They all have internationally recognized qualifications in teaching English as a foreign language and are trained in the latest communicative teaching methodology.
3.Use the resources in the knowledge and learning centre(KLC)
Learning English doesn't just happen in our classrooms! If you are over 16 years old, you are entitled to six month free membership of the British Council's knowledge and learning Centre when you register on an eight week course at the English Language Teching centre*. The KLC offers a wide range of books and audio-visual materials which you access to improve your language skills.
You will also be given a tour of the English Zone in the KLC. The English Zone has a variety of English language Teaching (ELT) materials for teachers for teachers and students. You have free online access to the latest CD-Roms, websites specially related to English language skills and a variety of digitalized audio materials at all levels. These materials can be used to supplement your regular course.

4. State-of- the art classrooms
Learn English with us in our State-of- the art classrooms and English zone. We have all the latest equipment in a student- friendly environment to make your learning experience comfortable and effective.
5 . Study English online with students all over the world
You will automatically become a member of an online learning environment called Global Village while you are registered on a course at the English Language Teaching Centre. This website is exclusively for British council Students around the world and gives you the opportunity to chat in English with other students and improve your language skills at home.

The Cambridge Certificate in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (CELTA) teaching award is an internationally recognised teaching qualification which follows a four-week curriculum designed by the University of Cambridge.
CELTA is considered to be an international benchmark English language teaching certification and the only qualification accepted by many language schools around the world.

CELTA is an initial qualification for people with little or no previous teaching experience. It is equally relevant to those who want to learn a new way of teaching English or gain an internationally recognised qualification. 

CELTA trainees must be at least 20-years-old and have a first degree or equivalent. You should also have a proficiency (C1/C2) level of English.
Throughout the CELTA course, you will learn the essential techniques of teaching. You will cover five main areas during the course: 
← Developing teaching skills.
← Analysis and awareness of language.
← Teaching and learning contexts.
← Planning lessons and materials design.
← Language skills: reading, writing, listening, speaking.
The British Council is the most established CELTA provider in India. We have four Cambridge recognised centres: Chennai, Kolkata, Mumbai and New Delhi. The course is assessed through a combination of teaching practice and written assignments with our dedicated CELTA team providing specialist guidance and support. Applications are processed in order of receipt. We advise you apply early to avoid disappointment as our courses are regularly over-subscribed.

Complete the application form and if you are eligible, you will be sent a range of language analysis tasks to complete. If you complete these tasks successfully, we move on to the interview phase. Interviews will be either face-to-face or by telephone.
